I have tried to document my family history using both MS Office and Apple Pages. It was a nightmare. These Canva templates are a game changer. I had never used Canva before but I was able to learn it quickly and I produced my first book, which documented all of my grandparents. My first book was 274 pages and it was done in less than two weeks. I am extremely pleased how easy the templates are to customize for my personal book needs.

I've only been using the Canva templates for 3 days, but I have found them very intuitive and easy to use. I think anyone with a basic understanding of working within their computer should have no problem with these templates. I've completed building my index and have already added numerous pages to individuals in my family. And Canva itself is very forgiving. If you realize you made a mistake, you can just undo it! I use Family Tree Maker 2024 and am very familiar with using it in conjunction with Family Book Builder, but I wanted a book based more on the documents themselves. With FTN Canva templates, you can build a book based on documents and their associated images. For my audience, I think a visual book with lots of images will be much more appealing than one with lots of words. I have one piece of advice - watch Carly's videos on the Canva templates. They will answer a lot questions and help you avoid future trouble.

For so long I had all this genealogy work sitting in boxes and files. I had always wanted to get it put together in a book form put had no clue where or how to start. It seems to be a really nice way to show your genealogy research. I am still learning how to use it and have a lot to learn. Have only done the index at this point.

Carly makes it soooo simple! I have been overwhelmed for years with boxes and binders of family papers, stories, articles and pictures. The Canva templates in the Tree Builder Kit make it easy and fast! I am finally getting it organized so I can show my grandchildren our family story.

I was really hesitant to purchase, as I wanted to know what was in the package. Each page is made, even though they are very similar. When I add the sheet for the children, I can adjust it to where it will look properly in a book, just moving borders around. I can also adjust the boxes and move things so it will work for what I have. I do want to upgrade to where I get the census, military and other records.

This is my first book with FT Notebooks. I bought the genealogy bundle but I am a little intimidated by it. I got this and am happy I did because it isn't so intimidating and I feel that it is a confidence builder. I bought my bundle to use with Adobe, never having used either it or Canva. I decided to try this with Canva and I would recommend this as a learning tool as well. I am finding it easier then Adobe. I do wish I could make a few pages with the ancestor history too though. I like that template as well. Good stuff!!
